Hops (Humulus lupulus L.) are an essential ingredient in beer production. The female flower “cones” of the hop plant contain lupulin glands with compounds important to the brewing process. These compounds - alpha acids, beta acids, and essential oils - contribute to beer’s bitterness and aroma.
We produce and supply high quality hops in a sustainable manner leveraging off-grid solar power, clean surface water irrigation, organic fertilizers and farmscaping (biological beneficials) for continued stewardship of the land and protection of the environment.
Saint Moor Hopyards, LLC is a Virginia based agricultural company focused on growing, harvesting, and processing hop cones for the regional and local craft beer markets. Hopyard #1 is located on our family’s Century farm.
